The facilities of the Metropole Swimming Club, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, were the stage of the XXXIV Championship of Spain Swimming Summer Open Master, competition that took place for four days and that was attended by a large group of swimmers of the Vulcania Lanzarote Swimming Club. The Lanzarote club achieved a historic third position in the general classification of clubs, after a weekend plagued by successes, and in which seven records of Spain in individual tests and two national relay plusmarks sprayed.

The Vulcania Lanzarote swimming club moved to Gran Canaria with an expedition of 36 swimmers, participating in one of the most important tests of the season nationwide. The XXXIV Spanish Swimming Summer Open Championship was attended by 1,251 swimmers, who represented 155 national clubs. Without a doubt, one of the events with the greatest participation of the season.

Once again, one of the great winners of the national competition was the veteran Rosa Segarra. CN Vulcania swimmer sprayed the record of Spain in five individual tests of the Master +75 category. Segarra inscribes its name in the 200 meters free (03: 06.78), 400 free meters (6: 21.02), 50 meters back (47.08), 50 meters Broza (49,38) and 200 meters styles (3: 37,31).

Juan José Aranda, in the Master +50 category, also achieved two records of Spain in the 100 -meter free (56.76) and 50 meters butterfly (27,37) tests. And in the relay tests, the CN Vulcania achieved the record of Spain in the 4 × 50 meters female free (2: 18,77), with a team composed of Sara García, Rosa Segarra, Cinzia Lais and Nicole Winkler, and in the 4 × 100 meters free female (4: 16,07) with Gisela Ramos, Elena Morante, Raquel Melián and Laura Yus.

In the club classification, the CN Vulcania Master Lanzarote conquers a historic third position in the XXXIV Spanish Open Championship, in an event dominated by the Canarian teams, the CN Metropole being second and first the Tenerife Master. In addition, the women’s team was the third classified and the male ended up in a meritorious seventh position.

After successfully completing their participation in the Spanish Swimming Summer Open Championship, the components of the CN Vulcania Master Lanzarote prepare for the Master World Cup that is celebrated in the coming weeks in Singapore. An international event in which the Lanzarote club will feature ten components.
